Our story

Assalaamualaikum,

My name is Hussain, and Andaluces began as a passion project born from a simple realisation:
something essential was missing from our homes in the UK.

Across the Islamic world, from Spain to Syria, Iraq to India, pattern and sculpture have shaped the spaces we inhabit for over a millennium. Travelling through Oman and Pakistan, I was struck by how these forms greet you immediately - at airports, in streets, in courtyards, catching sunlight on mosque walls. Elegant geometries become a quiet, ambient reminder of Islamic heritage.

Here in Britain we lose that: but even if we are not in the Islamic world, what if its beauty, artistry, and heritage could come closer to us nonetheless?
What if a little piece of Al-Andalus, or Cairo could be brought into our homes?

Despite the richness of this tradition, it has rarely been reimagined for the modern home — particularly in lighting, where atmosphere and form meet most powerfully. And so Andaluces was born: to create pieces that blend the restraint of contemporary design with the depth and warmth of Islamic artistry.

Our name reflects this intention. Andaluces draws from Al-Andalus, the historic Islamic civilisation of Spain and Portugal, and luces, the Spanish word for lights. Together, it means both “Lights of Al-Andalus” and the people shaped by that place - a meeting of histories, cultures, and journeys. We are proud to carry these layered meanings forward in every design.

Home is where family gathers, where memory is formed, and where tradition quietly lives alongside the everyday. Our pieces are designed to sit naturally within modern interiors while carrying stories of faith, craft, and belonging.

Objects shape spaces. Spaces shape hearts.
Whether for your own home or as a meaningful gift, Andaluces exists to bring depth, elegance, and connection into the spaces we share.
