Our story
Andaluces was started in Kent, England, when we noticed something was missing: the beauty of the Islamic tradition of pattern and sculpture, stretching millennia from Spain to Syria, Iraq to India, had never been reimagined in lightpieces for the modern home.
We set out to develop pieces which blended sleek western-modern elegance with traditional Islamic beauty, so that heritage and warmth could illuminate spaces whether they were in Cairo or London.
Our name, Andaluces, has Arabic and Spanish origins. Where Andalus, from Al-Andalus, refers to the historically Islamic region of modern-day Spain and Portugal in Arabic, and Luces refers to the plural Spanish word for light. Combined, they take on a meaning of "Lights of Al-Andalus," as well as an existing Spanish word for the people of this region. We're proud to reflect these many stories in our name and want to honour and celebrate this rich heritage and cultural expanse as with each one of our designs.
We understand home is where family gathers, where memories are made, and where tradition meets the everyday. Our designs are crafted to sit comfortably alongside your modern décor while carrying a story of heritage and faith. Objects shape spaces, and spaces shape hearts. Whether it’s for your own living room or as a meaningful gift, we’ve built Andaluces to bring depth, elegance, and connection into the homes we share.
